Frederick Butt

Frederick W. Butt VIRGINIA BEACH - Frederick William "Bill" Butt, 79, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010 in Virginia Beach. He was the son of the late Alvin and Eula Jaiser. He was predeceased by a daughter, Edie Hatchel. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; four surviving sons, William Steven, Terry, Wayne and James; three surviving daughters, Nancy, Shirley Gay and Pam; and two surviving sisters, Mellie Maddox and Margaret Ann Connelley. Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge Lynnhaven No. 120 and the Khedive Shrine Center. He was a Late Model Sportsman Stock Car driver in the 1970s who raced at Langley Raceway. He was a commercial/instrument/ multi-engine rated pilot and was an avid yachtsman. Bill grew up in Ocean View and Willoughby. He was a member of the U.S. Navy, he worked for The Virginian-Pilot, and retired from the Washington Star as a printer. Bill was a previous owner of Larkspur Texaco.
