Frances Williams Obituary

Frances E. Williams VIRGINIA BEACH - Frances E. Williams, 88, died Dec. 1, 2010, at the home of her son, Ray Williams, surrounded by family. She was born May 30, 1922, in Marion, S.C., the daughter of late Katie and William Shepherd. She was married to Joseph I. Williams Sr. for 69 years when he died in 2009. She was a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Berkley Chapter No. 52. Surviving are her two sons, Joseph I. Williams Jr. and his wife Nancy of Chesapeake and Ray Williams and his wife Faith of Issaquah, Wash.; five grandchildren, Benjamin Joseph Williams, Nicholas Todd Williams, James Matthew Williams, Melissa Ann Williams and Cheryl F. Keith; three great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Celentano. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Thalia Lynn Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, with Dr. Prentis McGoldrick officiating. A private burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk.
