Larry Clayton Obituary

Larry Lloyd Clayton HAMPTON - Mr. Larry Lloyd Clayton, 58, of Portsmouth died Jan. 10, 2011 at the Hampton Veterans Hospital in Hampton. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late William T. Clayton and Ada S. Clayton, who survives. Mr. Clayton was also preceded in death by his brother, Billy T. Clayton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Clayton was retired and had been self employed. He was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors in addition to his mother are his wife, Liana of Portsmouth; two daughters, Crystal Alexander and husband Chris of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Candi Clayton and husband Aimen of Roxboro, N.C.; three sons, Tony Clayton and wife Liette of Florida, Talan Wyenandt and wife Kaityln of Texas, and Darik Wyenandt of North Carolina; one sister, Leona Owen and husband Henry of Roxboro; eight grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, in Theresa Baptist Church. The Rev. Herbert Brown will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Clayton Family Cemetery on City Lake Road. Pallbearers will be Donnie Clayton, Marshall Clayton, Gary Clayton, Thedford Clayton, David Clayton, and Marshall Painter. The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Friday prior to the service at Theresa Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Portsmouth Humane Society, 2704 Frederick Blvd., Portsmouth, VA 23704. Condolences may be sent online at www.brooksandwhite.com.
