Our precious little miracle, age 3 months, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA Type I). For the short time that Michael was with us, he brought us much love and happiness. He will forever be in our hearts and sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Although he was battling a severe muscular disease, he always had a smile on his face and loved to play. Especially with his big sister Marissa. His beautiful little smile could melt your heart and light up the room. He loved to be rocked to sleep by mommy and would always be wide eyed with the sound of mommy's voice. He smiled his biggest smiles when playing with daddy. For such a small little angel he had so much courage and a will to live. He made our days brighter and taught us so much in the short time that he was with us. We will miss our sweet baby more than words can say.

Michael is survived by his parents Sergio Torres and Kelly Foreman; sister Marissa Torres; grandparents Sergio and Valerie Torres and Mike and Ruth Foreman; uncles Francisco Torres and the late Michael Foreman, and numerous other family, friends and loved ones.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 18, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Annunciation 425 W. Magnolia Street Stockton, CA. Visitation will be Thursday, July 17, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, July 18, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Committal will be at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, 719 E. Harding Way, Stockton, CA.

My precious angel above; I should be sleeping; but instead I am thinking of how much I miss you. I am thinking about how much I love you and how I would give anything to see your sweet little face and to just touch you; even if it was for just one more time. I have tried for mommy, Marissa, daddy, and everyone else to be so strong; because that's what grammie is supposed to do. But baby the truth is when I sneak away- I fall completely apart when I look around to find you or see you and I have to realize that you are you gone.That you are in a beautiful place so far away for me to see, touch, or hold. I must continue to remind myself that you're no longer suffering, no longer struggling, and are now in a beautiful heaven with no limitations, lots of puppies, butterflies, your uncle Mike, and are very free and happy. My dearest grandson, not a second goes by that I don't miss your beautiful face, sweet little hands & feet, and all the precious playtimes that we shared together. I waited so long for you to come into my life to fill a very special empty place in my heart that I knew only you my grndson could fill. After a very long time you finally came; and yes my sweet Michael you filled that spot in my heart with so much more than I expected. Then only after a short time you were gone; nd no I was I was not ready to let you go. I will never let you go because in the short time you were here you filled grammies heart with love, courage, strength, laughter, bravery, and so many other precious priceless memories that will stay wiith me forever. As Ipromised you; Every night (and even in the day while I proudly admire your pictures) I still sing our favorite "Dreamland" song. My little playmate you became; and how much fun did we have? You brought so much joy, laughter, and healing into our family.
