Wayne Marshall Obituary

Wayne L. Marshall, 80, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Mr. Marshall was a former member of First Baptist Church of Patchoughe, New York and at the time of his death was a member of Bonsack Baptist Church. He served as a leader in the Christian Service Brigade (a boys club organization in New York), and served in the U.S. Marines. Surviving are his wife, Janet Marshall; children, Cathy Marshall Newman and husband, Michael, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Roger Wayne Marshall, of Owings Mills, Md., Judy Rae Passudetti and husband, Arthur, of Daleville, Ronald Wayne Marshall and wife, Catherine, of Sterling, N.J.; eight grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; three sisters; and two brothers. Flowers are appreciated or memorial gifts may be made to World Vision. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m., Saturday, November 8, 2008, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, by the Rev. Scott Finley. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707.
