Mr. and Mrs. Childs,

I pray that you will see this message. It has been many years since Paul and I had played in the yards around Siesta Ave. I have thought of you all countless times and have often wondered how God has blessed you all. It is so very unfortunate that this burden has been placed on your family. You all have my prayers and give them to Paul,Emily, and the rest of the family as well. My email address is [email protected]. I hope to hear from you all and I know that you all are such a strong family and know that God has a plan! With Love, Aaron.

I feel sadness everytime I see Heidi's name because it brings back memories of when we lost our daughter of 19 in an auto accident January 23 will be 9 years without my baby Jennifer and she has never but a moment been out of my mind. Your anguish is different than mine, but you have to put it to rest....but probably just not right now. I'm so sorry for your pain and no one can take that away from you, it's something you have to do yourself at your own time. May God be with you as us, because I wouldn't still be here if I did not believe in the everlasting God Almighty.

It can be difficult
At this time of year
To join in the festivities
When you may not feel joy
In your heart.

But may it help to know
That others are thinking of you
And hoping the peace
And promise of Christmas
Will bring you comfort.

To know that the knowledge that your child is now with Jesus and in her Heavenly Home is wonderful and please know that your grief is a work in progress. I pray that our sweet Lord with surround you with his comfort and love at this time in your lives. Lean on him and it's ok to ask "why" sometimes. We are only human. I am deeply sorry for your horrible loss. I did not know your daughter nor your family. Unfortunately, I do know how incomprehensible the loss of having the one you love most taken by the hands of another. Nothing, absolutely nothing compares to this and for me, it has now been 23 long, hard years of such pain and suffering. All that gets me through each minute of each day is knowing I will be reunited again for eternity. Faith is everything and I pray for each of you and will forever each day. I'm deeply sorry and wish I could take your pain away. God bless you all. With Love and prayers,

October 1, 2009

I do not know you as her family but I want you to know my prayers are with you. I have a daughter who was at Hollins during the time of April 16th The first thing I did was to call her and tell her how much I loved her. I know your daugter knew that love from you. We never know how much we love someone untill our hearts have to feel the pain. I lost my sister in FEB after being with her thru CEMO. But nothing can prepare you for the loss you have. Rember god has his plans for all our lives and from hearing about Heidi she touched many young people to the plans he had for their lives. May this bring you some small comfort.

My deepest condolences to the family. I too lost a child at the age of 21 and it seem so unfair for the child to go before the parents.Hold on to the memories and take each day as it comes knowing that God promises a resurrection to all those in the memorial tomb.( John5 :28,29)I still hold that empty spot in my heart for him but i learn to live without that loss and to thank God for letting me know and love him.Never forget her and always keep her memory alive.

Although I didn't get to know Heidi I really feel like I did know her through Roylleen. I worked with her and she would tell me and Ellen stories of the family and the recent happenings. I too was totally shocked when I heard the news. I wish I could say something that would heal your broken hearts but only time will help do that. She is truly in GOOD HANDS now. I know she is so very much missed and your family is very strong and will be o.k. in time. I am so sorry this had to happen but there is bound to be some good come of this.
God assures us of better days ahead.

I have not met your family or your precious Heidi. I saw Heidi's father on the Nancy Grace show, and was so touched by his testimony of Heidi's love for Jesus. He will never know how many people watching the show were moved to come to know Christ. To be able to have such a presence during such a time of grief truly attests to your family's faith - and the mercy and grace of our Lord. My prayers are with you during this time of loss. Heidi is home; she has gone ahead of you and is waiting with all the saints to welcome each of you to your eternal reward. I pray that those responsible for this tragedy will be brought to justice, and that your family will heal and find peace in knowing you will see your precious girl again.

I saw the news of your daughter all the way in Winston-Salem, NC on the news. I'm so sorry for your loss. It breaks my heart. I'm 19 years old and I have a high school sweetheart who I've been with for 3 years. I can't imagine ever losing him or how our families would feel with a situation like this if something happened to us. Reading about how strong your daughter's faith in Jesus was and knowing she left with her sweetheart touches my heart. I hope times get easier for your family. God Bless!

Don and Laura,

With mournful and saddened hearts our prayers are with you and your family as you grieve the loss of your beautiful Heidi.

Heidi once shared the gospel message with my group of girls in AWANA at Heritage Baptist and you could see her love for the girls as she shared God's word with them. She lived out her faith in Christ and we know that you are certainly proud of her and miss her dearly.

May the Lord comfort you and keep you as you await your reunion with her in Heaven.

Some things in this life we have no control over but we do have control over the choices that we make for eternal life. May God lift you up and give you peace today and in the days ahead.

What a presious, beautiful flower that now adorns God's heavenly garden. Earth's loss is truly a delight for the Angels and our Heavenly father to be sure. To her parents- Words seem so inadequate at a time of such loss, but rest in the arms and promises of our loving Saviour. My brother attended VA Tech and my heart was heavy a few years ago when tragedy hit the campus. But when it hits home like your loss, it seems unbearable. Allow your faith and the love a those you know and don't know comfort you. There is such power in prayer...know that you are stronger than you know because of it. My heart is broken but my faith says, though I didn't know your Heidi, I will one day meet her, as will you, on a much happier day and place than we have today. Bless you, now and always.

You will always be in our hearts...good bye...for now" Love,
