Joseph Josephus Wilson (aka Boyce, Wilbert, and Chicken Wilson), was born in Mon Repos, St. Lucia on March 17, 1955, to the late Antoine Daniel and Josephine Wilson. On September 18, 2025, The Lord called him to his eternal resting place.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Matthew Wilson and Abel “Tony” Wilson and sisters, Angela Louis and Felicia Seally.
Joseph was educated in the St. Lucia school system and then at a theological college in St. Croix. He moved to Lynchburg, Virginia, in the 1980s, where he continued his education at Liberty University, earning a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Education. Joe always had a love for cars and started his career working at Kenneth Hammersley’s car dealership, and after a few years, he went on to start his own business called “Lynchburg Imports” and then renamed it “Caribbean Imports”, where he sold cars and tires. Joe was an advocate runner who used his athletic achievements to raise awareness for a specific cause. His love for the Word of God was always on his mind, and he had an answer to your Biblical questions. His knowledge of The Bible will be greatly missed.
Joe leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Peter S. Wilson, Joe Josephus Wilson, and Jovell Iralyn Wilson; three grandchildren: Peter S.A.Wilson, Shanice Wilson, and Jalean Wilson; siblings: Henry “Roy” Wilson, Sidney Louis, Leon Louis, Christopher Malcolm, Lawrence Malcolm, Jeannette Grandino, Aurelia “Dora” Wilson, Mary “Saintilla” JnBaptiste, Mafilda Clara Griffith, Veronica Malcolm, Cajetana Malcolm, and Lucillia Leon; special nephew: Titus Wilson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A service will be held at Crossroads Baptist Church on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
