Barbara Jeanne Culgin, 83, of Lynchburg, VA passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at home surrounded by family.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra J. Valis and her husband Scott of Goodland, FL; a son David R. Culgin and his wife Shelli Richardson of Lynchburg, VA, 2 grandchildren: Jennifer Berkowitz and her husband Gary of Uxbridge, MA and Cody Armstrong and his wife Heather of Thompson, CT: 5 great grandchildren Kierra Kurtyka, Isabella and Aldea Berkowitz of Uxbridge, MA and Scarlett and Sullivan Armstrong of Thompson, CT; a brother Ronald Del Dotto and his wife Debra of Burlington, MA; a sister Anna Zevola and her husband Patrick of Winthrop, MA.
She was predeceased by her great grandson Angel Dominic J. Berkowitz on 11/14/06.
Born in Boston on Jan. 29, 1942, she was the daughter of John J. Del Dotto and Elizabeth (Short) Del Dotto and lived in In Holliston, MA for 42 years before moving to Douglas, MA with daughter for 13 yrs. She moved to Lynchburg, VA with her son in Oct 2022.
Prior to her retirement she was employed at Weston Nurseries of Hopkinton, MA as a Personnel /Human Resource Manager where she met and hired many wonderful people over her 30 years of employment.
Family was the most important thing in her life. She will be remembered as a woman who cherished her time with her family and was most happy when all were together. She always felt that when she had her family all around her, her heart was full of love and joy.
Another favorite thing for her to do was sing with the Sutton Serenaders which brought her great joy. Although she lost a lung to cancer and was oxygen dependent she did this for many years performing at Senior Centers.
A memorial Church Service and inurnment will be held in November in Uxbridge, MA. Please contact the family for more details.
