Amy Stanford Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCoy Funeral Home - Blacksburg on Sep. 23, 2025.
Amy Denay Stanford danced into this world on May 16,1981, the night of her sister's first dance recital. She brought sparkle and shine and color and her own artistic and creative talents to the world of her parents Carolyn Miller Stanford and Richard Titus Stanford and her sister Erika Suzanne Perdue. Amy had so many interests. She loved dance, Virginia Tech Football, the beach, puzzles and all kinds of music but especially The New Kids on The Block. She was loved by all who knew her for being sweet, kind, caring, humble, and having a funny dry sense of humor. She was a 2003 graduate of Virginia Tech and received her master's degree from Radford University in 2006. She has been the Graduate Coordinator and Department Manager for the Department of Economics since 2007. On September 21, 2025, the Lord called his good and faithful servant home to heaven where she was reunited with her father, grandparents, Pete and Faye Miller and John and Helen Stanford, her aunt Sharon Priest, uncles John Stanford and Larry Oglesby, and cousin, Lori Stanford. Left here on Earth to cherish Amy's memory are her mother, Carolyn, sister Erika, uncles Wayne Miller, John Miller (Donna), Glenn Miller (Debbie), Edward Stanford (Gloria), aunts Bonnie Caudle (Melvin), Susan Oglesby, and Jan Stanford and her numerous cousins, and her many friends. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in. the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Buford Linkous officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00- 2:00 p.m. before the service. Interment will be private.
