Having moved away from the Twin Cities in 2000, I just learned of Jon's passing recently from a former Summit co-worker. I am truly saddened to have lost contact with him and by his passing as I learned so much from Jon in and outside of the brewery. A greater appreciation of jazz, fine wine and life in general are a just a few things of many that he passed on to me.
My most heart felt condolences to Jana and Andrew.

Jana & Andrew,
Though I only had the privledge of seeing Jon once or twice a year, he was someone I was always happy to see in my schedule.
His passion for his family was so evident when he spoke of both of you.

I always wanted to put a sign on Jon's favorite treadmill...he would wait until others got off so he could use it....once in awhile he would venture to another... We had conversations about my friend who had cancer, he was so real, so honest and listened so wholeheartedly. He was an entity that will be missed in the hearts of so many that had a better day only because he was in it. I knew him only through the Y and an occasional chance meeting but he was one who you can't forget. His love for his family was evident. He will be missed and forever remembered. The world is a better place...

Jana & Andy: I last saw Jon at a swim meet. I don't think we'd seen each other for over 20 years. But Jon recognized me immediately and we chatted for quite a while. And the years melted away. Jon had that affect on people. Made them feel relevant. Although I can't imagine the depth of your sorrow, you were blessed to have him as a husband and father.

It is hard to know Jon will not be at our YMCA anymore. His smile and genuine personality made an imprint on all of us - he will be missed but remembered for his friendship and dedication to our branch community.

Our kids attend South View with Andy and were so sad to hear that he lost his dad. Another Edina family (Valley View kids) lost their mom (Sarah Pascale) this past week. She also spent her final days at Fairview Hospice. It's way too much for kids this age to deal with, but please lean on your friends at school and in the community, for support. They care about you. Our prayers will be with you...
