Rita Merlene Kincannon

It is with great sadness that the family of Rita Merlene Greathouse Kincannon, announce her passing on January 14, 2019, at the Vibra Hospital, in Folsom, California. Family members were by her side. Rita was 81 years old. Born September 25, 1937, in Brownfield, Texas, to Ernie and Gussie Greathouse, Rita was the first of five children. In 1942, the family relocated to Yuba City, California.

Rita attended Yuba City High School, graduating in 1955 and attended Yuba College. Following her studies, Rita founded a construction company with her two brothers, Jimmy, and Johnny Greathouse. Her interests included family, gardening, crocheting, reading, athletics, and fishing. Rita had a love of life and family that will be cherished and fondly remembered. Rita raised her four daughters single-handedly who was a devoted mother, and absolutely adored her grandchildren.

Rita is survived by her two sisters Veda Brock and Linda Thornsberry; a brother Johnny Greathouse; four daughters, Vickie Dodson and fiance Rey Ambegan, Kathy Fergurson, Melinda Bailey, and Robyn Galliano and spouse Dr. John Galliano; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother Jimmy Greathouse.

Viewing will be on January 22, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Service on January 23, 2019 at 11:00am at the Ullrey Memorial Chapel located at 817 Almond Street, in Yuba City. Graveside service will be held at the Sutter Cemetery.
