Memorial services for Johnnie Olen Andrews, 79, of Sallisaw, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2023, in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel at Forever Memories Funeral Services, in Sallisaw.
Burial will follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services, Inc.
Mr. Andrews was born on Nov. 9, 1943, in Sallisaw, to John Calvin and Mary Ruth (Langely) Andrews. He died on May 18, 2023.
He was raised in Sallisaw, graduating high school in 1962. He then enlisted in the Air Force and was part of a helicopter rescue team in Vietnam. He worked for an Oklahoma City airline as a mechanic for jet engines, was a ranch foreman for a 4,800-acre cattle ranch, and worked for the State of Oklahoma as a Senior Livestock Inspector for 20 years.
He was married to Toni Smith on Feb. 1, 1989.
Survivors are two step-daughters, Tammy and Buddy Spaunhurst and Kim Hatfield; adopted foster son, David Becktold; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Tommy and Kathy Andrews and Juanita Tomberlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-daughter, Natalie Bustamante; and brother, Paul Andrews.
