Jacqueline Ann "Jackie" Champion

1938 - 2018

Jacqueline "Jackie" Ann Champion, 79, of Reading, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Borgess Medical Center. She was born October 5, 1938 in Hillsdale to Lawrence and Dorothy (Rigelman) Traxler. Jackie married Stanley Champion on November 2, 1957 and he survives.
She was a 1957 graduate of Reading High School. Jackie was a Pythian Sister and loved to bowl with her husband, Stanley. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, Sudoku puzzles and playing Nintendo -Dr Mario. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Stanley, Jackie is survived by her sons, Galen Champion of Reading and Curtis Champion of Key West, Florida; sisters, Marilyn Adams of Jacksonville, Florida, Pamela (Jim) Bowers of Jonesville and Penny (Larry) Bump of Hillsdale; brother, Ronald (Penny) Traxler of Reading; grandchildren, Rakisha Champion of Jackson and Ryan Champion of Reading and great grandchildren, Bradley Champion, Aubrie Todd, Lane Champion and Londyn Champion.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Champion; sisters, Sharon Lange and Sandy Johns and sister-in-laws, Nancy Randall and Susan Boothe.
Funeral services for Jacqueline Ann Champion will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Family will receive friends for visitation from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 at the funeral home.
