My sympathy to the Brauer family. I will always remember Richard for his kindness to others especially to those of us challenged with a chronic stutter. I served with Richard on the National Stuttering Association Board of Directors. I appreciated the Brauer family opening their home to members of NSA's Orange County Chapter for several years and Richard leading the chapter as their President. Richard helped us make history in planning in his home the first ever demonstration of people who stutter against the public ridicule of stutterers in films like "A Fish Called Wanda." Richard joined us on the picket line. The demonstration made news worldwide on the day before the Oscars. I will miss Richard.

To the Brauer Family,
The thoughts and prayers of my family are with you during this difficult time. I have fond memories of your family while we were growing up, going to Orangewood Academy and of the 20th reunion party, so graciously hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Brauer for the Class of 1981, which was the last time I saw Dr. Brauer. God bless you with peace and may you find solace in your memories.

Dear Beverly and family: I was saddened to read today that Dr. Brauer had passed. As you might remember, he was the first doctor I started transcribing for and the last. When he retired, I retired doing that too, as who could ever be more fun to work for or have as much patience and laugh when I gave him my many excuses as why the report was late:) He used to tell both Susan and me that the three women in his life that made him crazy at times was you, me and Susan and he'd chuckle as he'd spill his favorite office treat (popcorn). He gave me advise and positive assurance when I decided to start my own board and care home for my mom who had dementia. He was a man of intriguity, honesty and a damn good doctor. My entire family, my daughter who accompanied me for 10 yrs while working for him, my son who drove him home once and of course my husband to whom Dr. Brauer would ask the ultimate question to him, "does she ever stop talking" (with his wonderful chuckle) send our prayers. With fond and unforgetable memories, geri
