DONNA CHEETHAM Obituary
On Monday, August 24, 2015, Donna Sharyn Cheetham went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 68 years. She is survived by her mother Hazel Jones and her "Baby" sister Darlene Thompson (Kingston); her sister-in-law Jane Jones (Oshawa) and her stepbrother Carl Jones (Tweed). Lovingly remembered Aunt to Karla MacDonald (Michael), Blake Jones, André Desjardin (Sandi), Marc Desjardin (Sherry) and Zachery Cheetham. Great-aunt to Logan, Emma, Owen, Emily, Grace and Kayleigh. Godmother to Ella Dunstone and loving aunt to her brother Harrison. As well, she was Aunt Donna to many. Donna was predeceased by her stepfather Carmen B. Jones, her father Cecil Melville Cheetham and his wife Joyce; her sisters Barbara Desjardin and Jane Smallbill, her stepbrother Gary Jones, her half-brother Dwayne Cheetham, her brother-in- law Gerald Thompson and sister-in-law Brenda Jones. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Service Celebrating Donna's Life will be held Woodvale Pentecostal Church, 205 Greenbank Rd. on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside service and interment to follow at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens, Glenburnie (just outside of Kingston) at 2:30 p.m. For those who wish, a memorial donation to the Woodvale Pentecostal Church Building Fund, Capital City Mission or Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation would be appreciated. To say the absolute least, Donna was a very, very special Christian lady, whom I was blessed to have had as a friend when I lived in Ottawa attending Woodvale in the late '80's. She was always there for me at a time when I was going through career, spiritual and emotional difficulties. I cannot express how grateful I am to have known this beautiful person, who is now in the arms of Jesus. God Bless You and Your family, Donna.

Donna was an inspiration to me as we served together on the shower committee at Woodvale for many years. Such creativity! We had such a fun time on that committee. I will very much miss her smile and hugs when I visit Woodvale. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

I felt privileged to have Donna as my dear and, special friend for the past 30 years. We shared many trials and tribulations but there was lots of laughter and joys too. Our love for God solidified our friendship, our ties were unbreakable no matter the distance we understood each other. I am thankful that while she was in the hospital, I was able to say to Donna, ""I love you, Donna"" and she replied, " I love you too". Yes, I am grateful for her kindness, wittiness, wisdom and I am happy she is now in peace. She will be sadly missed by me - Kali Eugénie Bilowus, my Mom - Wiera, by brother - Andrew, his wife- Nicole and my niece Karine and my nephew Stéphane who all met her 30 years ago, as my Maid of Honour on my special wedding day.
Special thanks to Pastor Mark on his wonderful sermon today, Friday, August 28th, 2015. Donna, you'll always be in our hearts.

Donna was a beautiful, fun, helpful and kind Christian woman. I recall her giving me comfort when my confidence was low, taking me cruising in her red sportscar, showing up to wish me well on my wedding day and reaching out after the birth of my daughter. One of Donna's greatest joys was in helping others. She was a tremendous support to all of us in the flower shop especially at holiday time. No one could clean roses like Donna! I remember her for her generous spirit, her hearty laugh and love of a good joke, her attention to detail and her desire to make others happy. Donna always knew the best restaurants to visit and she enjoyed social occasions. We will miss her cheery presence at the flower shop. Her strong faith carried her steadfastly and courageously through much personal suffering. May you now find peace Donna. We will miss you.

My heartfelt condolences to all. Donna had been my neighbour for many years. She was always thinking of others. It wasn't uncommon for Dinna to show up at my door with beautiful flowers to give me. She always celebrated my daughter's school graduations by taking my daughter to dinner. She will be fondly remembered.

Donna was a special lady. She blessed my life for the first time when she and the shower committee at Woodvale put on a beautiful double wedding shower for me and Lisa in 1990. She was hardworking and committed to serving her God, which led her to bless many lives. I know that today she is with the Lord, no longer suffering the cancer she journeyed with for so long. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. Donna was a mentor and friend many years ago to me. As a new Christian she was always there to aide and provide solid grounding. Although our paths went in different directions she will be fondly remembered as a real genuine friend. I pray that the good Lord will bring the family through such a difficult loss, that good memories of Donna's impact on many including family will endure and sustain through this difficult time. We know that she is with the Lord where there is no more pain or suffering, walking on the streets of gold. Believe me heaven is a real place and Donna is now free from so much suffering and pain. One day, and very soon we too will meet her again if we believe and have faith in Jesus as Donna did and still does. Donna was an important part of my husbands and my life from the beginning of our marriage. She decorated for our wedding and anyone who can make an orange shag carpet look good has talent!! She also loved out girls and prayed for them and encouraged them at every opportunity.
We will miss our friend but are SO glad she is finally "home". We pray for comfort for her mom and sister who were so faithful.

I first got to know Donna in 1994 through the church. At that time we had "secret sisters". Although I was not her secret sister I remember her being so excited when she received a basket of strawberries from her secret sister and saying "My birthday is in July and I just love strawberries. My secret sister gave me strawberries as a birthday gift" I am truly sorry for your loss of a beautiful and bubbly person.
