Adam Lessman Obituary

The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Wednesday, and again from 10am until time of the service at 11am Thursday, at the funeral home.
Mr. Lessman was born September 28, 1975 in Stephenson County, IL to Randall Gene and Rita Ann Hayes Lessman. He was a loving husband and father and a dedicated friend. Adam was a U.S. Army veteran and a Manager with Amentum, in aircraft maintenance.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herb and Thelma Lessman, and Orville and Barbara Hayes; and his mother and father-in-law, Milton and Barbara Bess.
Mr. Lessman is survived by his wife of 27 years, Crystal Lessman; sons, Kaleb (Baleigh) Lessman, and Kyle Lessman; daughter, Kaitlin Bess; parents, Randall and Rita Lessman; brothers, Aaron (Tammy) Lessman, and Andrew (Amanda) Lessman; sisters, Amy (Tim) Steidinger, Annie (Jeremy) Besgrove, and Ashley (Bryan) Ignatow; and his dogs and special fur babies, Layla and Luna.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of these arrangements.

My deepest condolences to Adam's family and closest friends during this sorrowful time. I was fortunate enough to finally meet Adam face to face during a visit to Ft. Campbell last fall before departing the company. He was an excellent peer and mentor and truly the only one who directly understood the stresses and struggles I was dealing with throughout that time. There were many phone calls and venting sessions to each other during that time and I was glad to call him a friend. The aviation community, the MWO community, and the world are all a lesser place without him. I know the Lord has him safely now, but the world is darker without him here.
