Alex "Arnold" Carpenter, age 82, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 7th, 2023, at Holzer of Jackson. He was born March 7th, 1941, in Cadmus, Ohio to the late Fredrick and Gladys (Roese) Carpenter.
Arnold was retired from Waterloo Coal Company of Oak Hill, Ohio. He had previously been employed at Capital City Products in Columbus, Ohio, Stewart & Silver in Columbus, Ohio, Bell Construction in Columbus, Ohio, and as a driver for the Amish in Oak Hill, Ohio.
He was an avid old car enthusiast and was a member of the Good Guys Car Club. He loved riding his motorcycle, camping, and spending time with his family and friends.
Arnold is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sarah (Oberkonz) Carpenter; children: Alec (Kristin) Carpenter, Katrina Carpenter (Suzanna Webb), Bill (Jennifer) Bell, and Nicole (Kelsey) Bell-Nance; grandchildren: Rachel, Jordan, Macy, Riley, and Wyatt; brothers, Richard (Delayne) Carpenter and Fred Carpenter; as well as several nieces and nephews and his fur baby, Skeeter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Patricia Suzanne Carpenter; brother, Mike Carpenter; and an infant brother.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 12th, 2023, from 11AM-2PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2PM with Pastor Cline Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow at Gallia Baptist Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to .
