Bill Carpenter, 67, of Macon, MO, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Boone Medical Center in Columbia, MO.
Bill was born in Table Grove IL, the son of Paul Robert and Betty Lou (Vollmering) Carpenter. He was united in marriage to Debbie Case on September 16, 1982 at the Immaculate Conception Church. Bill was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, an active member of the Knights of Columbus, and managed the church security. He worked at Moberly Regional Medical Center for 42 years as a registered nurse, and worked for the Macon County Sheriff's Department for 32 years. You would either catch him most mornings at McDonald's with his wife drinking coffee, or at Gun Grove. Bill was passionate about farming and raising cattle, fishing, hunting, and adored spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife, Debbie of the home, twin daughters, Jennifer Brown and her husband Chris of Peculiar, MO, and Jodie Rains and her husband Orie of Peculiar, MO, three grandchildren, Dakota, Caleb and Houston, one brother, Rick Carpenter and his wife Sharon of Camdenton, MO, two sisters, Sandra Searle and her husband Pat of Morton, IL, and Anne Simar and her husband Dave of Moberly, MO, and cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Betty Carpenter, and one brother, Gary Carpenter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 6:00 pm, Wednesday. November 5, 2025, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Macon. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 pm, at the church, beginning with a 3:30 pm Rosary Service. The family suggests memorials to the Immaculate Conception Church or the Macon County Food Pantry. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon.
