Daniel was born on November 17, 1971, in Macon, MO, the son of Gary D. and Margaret Ellen (Perkins) Winkler. He graduated from Macon High School in 1990 and later graduated from Linn Tech with an Associate's Degree.
Daniel worked in the maintenance department for MoDot and retired in 2022. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Daniel is survived by one brother, Matt Winkler and his wife Jill of Macon; two sisters, Ellen Sapp and her husband Rick and Melinda Lindley-Morris, and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roger Dale Winkler.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Macon. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm, Saturday, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Randy Johnson Memorial Fund.
