Allen Edwards Gill Jr.

HENDERSON-Allen Edwards Gill, Jr., 64, passed on June 14, 2024 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Allen, who many knew as "Allen Jr.," was born in Henderson, on October 12, 1959 and was the son of the late Allen Edwards Gill, Sr. and Annie Shelton Dunkley Gill. Allen grew up attending The First Presbyterian Church of Henderson.
Funeral service will be at held Wednesday June 19, 2024 at 2:00 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home by the Rev. Tim Short. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
He and Betty (Newton) Gill leave a legacy of family including their children, Parker Gill, Amber Horton (Nick), and Kayla Satterwhite (James Jr. all of Henderson; grandchildren, Jordyn Leighann Satterwhite, Brayden James Satterwhite and Allison Faith Holder; as well as cousins Jennifer (Mitchell) Eatmon of Henderson, Lee Pugh (Cheryl) and Brien Pugh of South Boston, VA; Rick Gill of Pensacola, FL, and Cindy Harris of Locust Grove, VA.
In addition to his parents. he was predeceased in death by parents-in-law, Clyde L. and Shirley (Munn) Newton; grandparents, Clarence and Mamie (Edwards) Gill, Sellers Gray and Willie Lee (Elliot) Munn, Luther and Rilla Newton and George William and Jennie Mae (Bailey) Dunkley all of Henderson; uncles and aunts, James and Lavina (Dudick) Gill of Henderson, J.B. and Alma (Gill) Pugh of South Boston, VA, Cleve and Ora (Gill) Harris of Locust Grove, VA, and Bill and Maureen (Ferguson) Gill of Pensacola, FL; and by first cousins, Jimmy Gill of Asheboro, Rodney Harris of Ft. Rucker, Clarksville, TN; and Stanley Harris of Lynchburg, VA.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the J. M. White Funeral Home, and on Tuesday, June 18th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the home of his cousin, Jennier Eatmon, 1003 Carroll Road, Henderson, NC.
Serving as pallbearers will be Colby Beasley, Mark Hubbard, James Satterwhite Jr., Nick Horton, Brian Eatmon, and Cameron Eatmon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to J. M. White Funeral Home, 60 Zeb Robinson Road, Henderson, NC 27536 to help with Allen's funeral expenses.
