Obituary of Anthony "Tony" Michella
Anthony Michella (Tony), 66, of Stony Point, passed away on Tuesday, May 2 2023 three weeks after being diagnosed with melanoma.
Tony was born in Nyack on November 3, 1956, the eldest son of Lauretta (Bradshaw) Michella and Anthony Michella Jr. Tony graduated from North Rockland High School in 1974 and Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Potsdam in 1978 where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
He worked as a Systems Program Manager for IBM Sterling Forest until his retirement in 2021.
Tony and Cathi Squillante, also of Stony Point, met in college and were married at St. Peter's Church, Haverstraw, on October 18, 1980. The couple had 4 children and 9 grandchildren.
He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and neighbor to all. Anyone who met him instantly liked him. He loved to golf, play cards and watch horse racing. He was a member of the Italian American Club in Haverstraw and the Men's Club of Immaculate Conception Parish.
Tony is predeceased by his father Anthony Michella Jr. and his brother Stephen Michella. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cathi (Squillante) Michella, daughter Christina Conlin (husband Sean) and their daughters Rileigh, Grace and Mae, daughter Jamie Quinn (husband Joey) and their son Jackson and daughter Madelyn, son Anthony Michella (wife Theresa (Statile) and their daughters Briar Rose and Ever Lilly, daughter Katie Youvan (husband Tyler) and their son Vince and daughter Sienna, his mother Lauretta Michella, sister-in-law Cheryl Michella, brother Bill Michella (wife Liz), sister Kathy Russo (husband Peter), sister Laura Serrano (husband Domenick), sister Ellen Ferrier (husband Larry) and many many nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and neighbors who will all remember him with love and smiles.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 7 from 4pm-8pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Haverstraw, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 8, 11 am, at Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point, followed by interment at Brick Church Cemetery in Spring Valley, NY.
