Bertha Smalt Obituary
Bertha "Jane" Smalt, age 88, of Bath, NY died Thursday, May 11, 2023 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born April 12, 1935 in Cameron, NY, the daughter of John and Bertha (Simmons) Pierson. Jane had worked at Westinghouse in Bath. She loved spending time with her family and would always have a hot meal for anyone who visited.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years Eugene "Bugs" Smalt of Bath, NY; children, Jeffrey (Sue) Smalt and Raymond Smalt; five grandchildren, several great grandchildren and her sister Dorothy Barrett. She was predeceased by her daughter, Darcia Smalt
Family and friends are invited to the visitation at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday May 16th at 11:00 am at the funeral home, followed by a graveside service at Nondaga Cemetery, Bath.

Bugs this is Rich Woodcock, I´m so sorry to hear about Jane she was a great woman! I will always remember our trip to Idaho. She was a real trooper and handled it well except. When she tried to boil water at 10000 feet and spaghetti came out in one big glob of starch. I´m sorry we couldn´t make the funeral. If there´s anything you need please get a hold of me. We still live in Corning. You take care of yourself. Again, I am so very sorry for your loss.
