Bonnie Jean (Lentz) Riek, age 62, Madison, Wisconsin passed away December 3, 2024. She had been struggling with health issues for the past several years. She is survived by her husband, Dale. They celebrated 31 years of marriage in July. They were married on July 3, 1993.
Born January 24, 1962 in Eugene, Oregon to Dorothy Jeanne Samuelson and David Franklin Lentz, Bonnie would later move from the state of Oregon to Geneseo, Illinois and Rice Lake, Wisconsin as a young girl and then to Madison, Wisconsin as a teenager. Bonnie had a heart of gold and was a great advocate for animals and veganism. Bonnie was a friend to many not only in Wisconsin, but all around the country. She was a kind woman and was always willing to help someone at the drop of a hat and will be deeply missed by the many people whose lives she touched. She cared deeply for those around her, and loved her pets going above and beyond when it came to their health. Bonnie earned an Associate’s Degree in Commercial Art at Madison Area Technical College and worked for a time as a graphic artist for the Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection, as well as other state agencies, including the Department of Gaming.
She is further survived by her brother Loran (Jean) Lentz,of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, a sister, Heidi (Fred) Warren of St. Charles, Illinois, a beloved niece, Heather Warren Hengst, of Madison, Wisconsin, and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
