Ms. Calvert was a tremendous mentor and a great teacher. I was involved with the Tower Times and learned so much from her through that. Beyond her duties though, she was a caring and thoughtful presence in the lives of so many students who benefited from having her in our lives. My condolences to her family at this difficult time.

Mrs Calvert was my 9th grade English teacher at Madison East High School back in 1969-70. She was inspiring, innovative and a wonderful educator. I enjoyed her class immensely. I particularly remember a segment on giving speeches and how she got the most out of each student. I furthered my education by earning a bachelor's degree in business administration and had a successful career in Information Technology. In honor of Mrs Calvert, I made a donation to Second Harvest Foodbank of south central Wisconsin. I am so sorry for your loss. Cathy Cuccia, East High Class of 1972
