MURPHYSBORO – Brenda Harrison passed away at her home in Murphysboro on March 3rd, 2024 at 10:02am.
Brenda loved Elvis.
Brenda was born on August 12th, 1950 in Carbondale to William Eugene Holder and Laura Mae Phemister Holder Dodge.
Brenda married her best friend, Ervin Harrison on August 13th, 1993 in Murphysboro. She was a faithful member of Mount Carbon Christian Church until it closed down. She worked as a housekeeper at Oak Grove Rehabilitation Center until she retired.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Ervin Harrison. Sons, Terry (Patricia) Aldridge of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Robert Harrison of Campbell Hill, and William Harrison of South Haven Mississippi; daughter, Lorelei (Michael) Rapp of South Haven Mississippi; four grand-daughters that she raised, Tina (Michael) Anderson of Murphysboro, Ashley (Chase) Castle of Sarah, Mississippi, Leslie Gibson of Carbondale, and Leanne Gibson of Carbondale, along with nine other grandchildren, her great-grandsons, Caden Woolard, Dawson Woolard, and Daniel Anderson along with seven other great-grandchildren that she loved very dearly. Her brother Michael Holder of Cambria, Aunt Jeannie Phemister of Tennessee, cousins and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents, William Eugene Holder and Laura Mae Phemister Holder Dodge; step-father Harold Dodge; daughter, Amy Shingleton; son, Daniel "Danny" Harrison; her brother, Larry Holder and sister-in-law Cheryl Holder and many brother and sister-in-law’s.
Memorials may be made to Meredith Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
Graveside Services for Brenda will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at McKinney Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jason Harrison officiating.
