Carlos Ruben Ortegon, 61, of La Pryor, Texas passed away on June 10, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in La Pryor. Interment will follow at La Pryor Cemetery.
He was born on July 1, 1962, in Saginaw, Michigan to Olga (Perez) and Ramon Ortegon.
He is survived by his mother of La Pryor; four daughters, Kendra Ortegon of San Antonio; Candice Ortegon of La Pryor, Kayla Ortegon of La Pryor and Sydney Battle of San Antonio; son, Nicholas Ruano of La Pryor; sister, Olga Hinojosa and husband, Joe of La Pryor; two brothers, Jesus Ortegon and Jose Ortegon both of La Pryor; brother in law, Thomas Castillo of La Pryor; grandchildren, Kadynce Aguilar, Leah Ortegon, Raelynn Ortegon, Avery Ramirez, Kayse Anders, Ariella Salazar, Alahni Salazar, Jameson Mendoza, and Lily Ruano; great grandchild, Andrew Wiltz; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He preceded in death by his father; sister, Anna Castillo; and brother, John Ortegon
Pallbearers will be Jose Ortegon, John Ortegon, Jr., Nicholas Ruano, Jesus Ortegon, Jr., Thomas Castillo, Francisco Castillo, Antonio Duran Gonzalez, and Ricardo Perez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jameson Mendoza and Andrew Wiltz.
