She was born January 30, 1946, in Osceola, MO, the daughter of Ferrell and Irene (Keltner) Dempsey.
On January 6, 1989, Carol and Ronald Homfeld were united in marriage.
Carol loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also a talented seamstress.
Carol is survived by her children, Lori (Forrest) Wittman and Chris (Ellen) Shinkle; her grandchildren, Whitney (Erik) Mathis, Kelsey (Kyle) Wilgers, Jordan (Rachel) Shinkle, and Hayden Shinkle; her great grandchildren, Kinslee Mathis and Forrest Wilgers; her siblings, Judy Stephens, Lynn Dempsey, Doug Dempsey, and Dorothy (Rodney) Street; and her husband, Ron Homfeld.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Harvey Dempsey, Denny Dempsey, Claude Dempsey, and Curtis Dempsey.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024, at JC Cowboy Church with Aaron Ray Collett officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Show-Me Christian Youth Home and left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home.
