Carol Ann (Walker) Payne passed away on Sunday November 12, 2023.
Carol worked for A T & T for many years and retired in 1998, she was just shy of working with them for 30 years.
She was very active in the A T & T Pioneer Volunteer Organization. With the Pioneers Carol taught with the Junior Achievement program, homemade Hug-a-bears, and Southwest bears, she volunteered her time in many ways always looking to help with under privileged kids. Also, in retirement Carol spent many years as a substitute teacher in the Albuquerque and Gadsden school districts.
Proceeded in death by her parents, William Walker & Doris Davis, and her brother William H. Walker.
She is survived by her children John Payne, Elizabeth and husband Cody Hampton, bonus daughter Tammy Strickland. Her grandchildren Harleigh and husband Greg Boghosian, Hope McKay, Zakary Strickland, and Cerra Coffman. Great Grandchildren: Shaina, Aiden and Levi and our beloved baby B.
In life you were a blessing to many, your memory we will always treasure, you are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, with Rosary at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 568 E Lisa. Committal Service will follow at 11:00 AM at Desert View Cemetery.
