Carolyn Kopcho

Carolyn Walker Kopcho, a native of Sanford, NC and a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the age of 70.
Carolyn graduated from Sanford Central High School in 1972 and later completed her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She was a lifelong learner and passed that on to her daughter and granddaughters. She loved a witty joke and if you were paying attention, you'd catch her making jokes under her breath all the time. She delighted in sharing stories from her past because she truly cherished her friends and family and one of the greatest things to witness was the pure joy she received from her two granddaughters. She chatted with Jesus every day and would always make sure we knew "He was in her heart."
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry M. Kopcho, her parents, Phillip L. Walker and Mary Jane Walker, and sister, Sandra Walker Brown.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary K. Denton and her husband, Matt of Fairhope, AL; her two beloved granddaughters, Piper (age 5) and Penelope (age 3); and her two brothers, Phillip Walker, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Brunswick, GA and Robert Walker of Wilmington, NC.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 11AM. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation before the service at 10AM.
Interment will take place at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, VA at a later date.
