Charles Nathan Pemberton, "Assini Inni" meaning "Rock Man," age 64, "Topper" or "Chuck" started his journey home on August 19, 2024, in the arms of his loving wife, Linda. Topper/Chuck was born on January 27, 1960. He had a unique start, born weighing over 10lbs and with a tooth is where his journey began. Born the son of Dallas Gene Pemberton, Sr. (White Earth Band of Ojibwe) and Charlotte Mary Bedeau White (Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe) in Minnesota.
Topper/Chuck was a Union Carpenter, Construction Contractor, and a Rough Neck to the end. With a little-known fact that he won the "Punt, Pass and Kick" event when he was young, daring mini bike rider, hanging out at "Beck's" working on cars and other things. He graduated from the school of hard knocks and was known for his knowledge of Rock n Roll music (he was the Trivia King and had the "James Brown Moves" perfected), he used his talented math/numbers mind to become an ace Cribbage player and loved to watch the Vikings (even when they lost). We've all known the good, the bad and the ugly of life and he'd seen his share. We were blessed to know Topper/Chuck as a friend and extended family. He was a strong man, fighting through many years of suffering, battling major knee issues, health/cancer and a transplant, his body grew tired and was called home to suffer no more.
Topper is survived by his loving wife, Linda, (numerous loved Missouri family members); beloved children, Nicole Christine Pemberton, Benjamin, Trina Kay Pemberton, Eli Gregory Pemberton (Lacey Jane), Reno Dean Pemberton (Kaitlyn), and Desire Diane Pemberton; sisters, Diane Pemberton Osceola, Christine Pemberton Johnson (James); brothers, Garr Evan Pemberton (Kristine), Jeremiah Pemberton (Kelly) Joshua Pemberton (Arlessa); grandchildren, Kaleb, Jordan, Clifford Benjamin III, Alyssia Benjamin, Tristan Benjamin, Sarina Carlton, Brandon Carlton, Marcus Spears, Senncere Spears, Makyla Thurman, Hattie Jane, Mason, Easton, Dawson, Nathan (Soto) Pemberton; stepmom, Nada Hatch; best friend, Dave Ogdahl (who was there for brother -Thank You!); numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephew, cousins, and extended family members.
Topper/Chuck is preceded in death by his father, Dallas Gene Pemberton, Sr.; brothers, Rodney Loper, Dallas Gene Pemberton Jr., Paul Bronson Pemberton; nephews, Devan Loper and Daniel Travor Osceola, as well as numerous other loved ones and friends.
Topper's Final Resting Place will be with his wife Linda and 5 children for safe keeping.
