Cheryl "Sherri" Baker of Dixon, IL passed away peacefully on September 2, 2023.
Sherri was born in northern California on August 17, 1954, but was a lifelong resident of Illinois. She grew up and spent most of her adult life in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago until she moved to Dixon, IL in 2007. She was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a student of life.
Sherri met her husband Roger while working in the hospitality industry during the mid 1970's, and they were married on February 12, 1982 in Rockton, IL.
Sherri worked at many fulfilling jobs over the years, and enjoyed a career with Honeywell until starting her own retail business in the home decor, gifts and collectibles industry in 1997.
Sherri loved animals, and had several cats and dogs over the years. Her favorite animal was a dolphin, and she was blessed to swim with a dolphin in 1999 during a Caribbean vacation.
She was an avid collector of dollhouse miniatures, special edition Barbies, and I Love Lucy, Elvis, and Betty Boop figurines. Sherri was also a talented crafter and made custom centerpieces, floral arrangements and wreaths as part of her business.
She was preceded in death by her father John Dubs, her mother Nina Thachet (Dubs/Coleman), and her husband Roger Baker, along with many dear friends over the years.
Sherri is survived by her daughter Dianna "Andie" (Anthony) Groff, and step-children Kevin (Andrea) Baker, Kimberly (Jerry) Baker-Karsjen and Lorilei (Rachel) Baker.
Sherri has 12 grandchildren including Scott (Merysol) Baker, LeAnn Reeder, Kyle Baker, Michelle Krier, Leigh Krier, Kristina (Christopher) Lowe, Erick (Julie) Klein, Nicholaus Klein, Chloe Klein, Jaxon Klein, Jameson Baker and Rachel Groff.
Sherri also has 13 great grandchildren Symer, Stephanie, Brantley, Tristan, Robert, Vincent, Lila, Vanessa, Elizabeth, Gracelyn, Mary, Allison and Alexis.
Memorials in her name can be directed to Silverado Memory Care, where recipients will receive grants to advance their medical careers; specifically in the field of Alzheimer's Disease, dementia, and memory care.

The family will be receiving guests on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Drive, Sugar Grove, IL 60554 from 3-4 pm. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Scott Poling, will take place at 4 pm in which all guests are welcomed to attend.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
