Christol Marie Thompson

Ms. Christol Marie Thompson, 41, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece and friend, was born in South Bend, Indiana on November 30, 1979 to Christine Carpenter and the late Manuel Thompson. She passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Christol attended the former LaSalle High School and was a cashier at Meijer on Portage Road. She had many roles in life but the one of most importance to her was being the mother to her nine children. She LOVED her children unconditionally and would do anything for them. She was looking forward to the birth of two unborn grandchildren. Even though Christol was the middle child, she was the self appointed protector of her older and younger sisters. Christol was a fun and loving person who was regarded by many as the life of the party. She was fun to be around and always brought happiness to the room. She kept you laughing but was down to earth and blunt in what she had to say. She was an excellent cook and really enjoyed cooking. She was always trying new recipes and posted her meals on her Facebook page. Her favorite dish to cook was tacos and they tasted like authentic Mexican food. Christol also enjoyed doing hair and she was very good at it. Her inspiration to do hair started at a young age as she always watched her mother do hair. She loved music and listened to all kinds of music from old school to current R&B sounds. You could always tell Christol's mood by the music playing in the background. Her favorite recording artists were Lauryn Hill, Mary J. Blige and local musician Ms. Brandy Franklin. Christol had a heart of gold and would help others in any way she could. Christol leaves to cherish her loving memory nine children, Arthur Neely, Jr., (Olivia), Tylor Neely, Christopher Thompson, Diamond Neely, Brenden Neely, Trinity Thompson, Journey Coleman, Nevaeh Coleman and Jordan Thompson; a grandson, Elijah; her significant other, Anthony "Pooh: Coleman; two siblings, Kelly Thompson (Andrew Patterson) and Rochelle Thompson; five nieces and nephews, Kaprice, Kyrize, Kelis, Kamren and Jada; special cousin, Sherika Sullivan along with a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, coworkers and friends. Along with her father Christol was also preceded in death by a son Devon Thompson and her second born son; maternal grandparents, Vera Carpenter and King David and paternal grandparents, Corrine "Dego" and Sullivan and J.B. Sullivan. Christol's memory will live forever in the hearts of those who love her.
