Craig John Carmody

Vernon Twp., NJ: Craig John Carmody, 69 years old, passed away after a long illness at St. Anthony's Hospital, Warwick, NY on Friday, March 8, 2024. Born to Clinton and Ishbel Carmody in Trinidad, BWI, he had lived in Butler, NJ before moving to Vernon Twp., NJ 36 years ago.
Craig worked as a mechanic and then as a Fed Ex Driver before becoming a school bus driver most recently for Decker Transportation in Vernon Twp., NJ. He was a member of the Glenwood Pochuck First Aid Squad, an accomplished handyman with cars and other projects and enjoyed watching TV and following his beloved Steelers.
Craig is the beloved husband for 41 years of Carol Carmody(nee Walsh) of Vernon Twp., NJ. Dear brother in law of Jeannie Shuster and her husband, Gavin Geiger of Tewksbury, NJ and Steve Walsh and his wife, Debbie of Vernon Twp and Greenville, NY. Cherished uncle of Sarah Walsh, Brian Shuster and his fiancee, Danielle. Craig is also survived by his beloved boxer Jarvis. Craig almost always had a biscuit in his pocket because he was a huge lover of dogs as well as all animals.
Private cremation with memorial visitation at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 12 to 4 PM. Repast will follow at the McAfee Fire House, Route 94, McAfee, NJ. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers to the Vernon Twp. Animal Shelter would be greatly appreciated.
