Daniel Wesley DeVoe

Daniel Wesley DeVoe, devoted son to Wesley and Jeanne DeVoe, brother to Deborah Stevens, Cheryl Kulik, Stephen and Timothy DeVoe, and uncle to Timothy DeVoe Jr., Jennifer McGowan, Victoria Stevens, Lindsey Brown, Finn McGowan, as well as Tyler, Kelsey, Jaylyn, Benjamin, Michael, and Madison Kulik, passed from this life to Heaven on 4/30/2023, at his home in Haddon Township, NJ.
Daniel, or Danny as he was lovingly known to those who loved him, was born 9/6/1960, to parents Wesley and Jeanne DeVoe. Danny graduated from Haddon Township High School in 1978, and later completed a certificate program in aircraft mechanics from Quaker City School of Aeronautics in Philadelphia, PA. He was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church in Cherry Hill, NJ where he worked as their maintenance supervisor.
Dan was what we used to call a "jack of all trades." He could rebuild a car engine, rewire an entire house, hang sheetrock, build a computer, install and troubleshoot computer software. He never went to college, but he was able to teach himself just about anything. He was never satisfied until he mastered the skill. Everything he did was done by the book and to perfection.
Dan loved his family. Looking back through all the pictures of him playing with his nephews and nieces, always encouraging them to push their limits and be tough and strong. He always made time for each of us, whether it was to run over to one of our houses and help us with a plumbing emergency, get a car started, or simply sit and talk about the events of the day. He had a genuine smile and loved to laugh at funny videos or a clean joke.
Dan will be missed by everyone in our family. We always get together as a family for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Not having him there will be hard for all of us. Our family are all Christian believers, as Dan was as well, so we take comfort that it is not goodbye, but rather till we are reunited in Heaven.
Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go and prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also. – John 14:1-3
Services and burial will be limited to the immediate family. If you would like to honor Daniel, a gift in any amount to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
