Daniel E. Malloy

Daniel E. Malloy, age 77, of York, passed away on October 2, 2023, at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the devoted husband of the late Beverly A. (Miller) Malloy who passed away in 2001; together they shared twenty wonderful years of marriage.
Dan was born on December 29, 1945, in Pittsburgh, PA, and was the son of the late Edward Malloy and the late Helene (Foley) Malloy. He graduated from York Catholic High School Class of 1963 and from Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD Class of 1968. Dan was a member of the Victory Club, the Knights of Columbus, and a life member of the York Hospital Foundation. He was a former member of the Yankee Club, the 12th Ward Democratic Club, and the Vigilant Club. Dan was also the past President and Trustee of the Grantley Fire Company and for many years he was membership secretary and an active member of the Grantley Ambulance Club. Dan served on the Development Board at York Catholic High School where he was a member of the Gaelic Club and the Athletic Association. Dan was also a board member of the York Chapter of the National Kidney Foundation.
For ten years Dan taught science at St. Joseph Catholic School in Dallastown, PA. In the 1980s, Dan was a founding owner and the managing partner of the Sawmill Racquetball Clubs. He later switched careers, becoming a broker for the Copeland Companies, tax-deferred income specialists, and was the Region Manager of the Harrisburg, PA office. Dan retired from the Glatfelter Insurance Group, where he managed the Bond Department.
While a teacher, Dan enjoyed traveling and backpacking in Europe and North Africa. He continued to enjoy traveling with his wife and a merry group of friends, eventually visiting fifty-five countries.
Dan is survived by his loving sisters, brother, and their families.
Funeral services and interment were held privately by the family under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of East York.
