Danny Ray Gardner

GATES, NC – Danny Ray Gardner, a general contractor, construction worker and jack of all trades, passed away on June 23, 2023, in Greenville, North Carolina, at the age of 67. He was born on July 21, 1955, in Kenly, North Carolina, to Harvey Earl Gardner and Lena Marie Talton Gardner.
Danny loved his family deeply, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and had worked with his hands since the age of eight. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his passion for fixing things.
He is survived by his beloved wife Rosa, two sons, Danny Gardner Jr. of Gates, and Randall Gardner (Camiel) of Martinsville, VA., two daughters, Deborah Gardner Sharon of Gates, NC, and Nichole Bangal (Jonathan) of Gates; thirteen grandchildren: Danny Ray Gardner III, Kyle Gardner, Payton Gardner, Samantha Gardner, Jacob Gardner, Madison Gardner, Kaylynn Sharon, Cheyanne Sharon, Skylar Gardner, Anthony Bangal, Kayden Bangal, Olivia Bangal, Bryson Bangal, and a great-granddaughter, Amillie Ray Jenkins. He is also survived by his sister, Sherry Hodge of Chesapeake, VA, and brother, Teddy Wayne Gardner of Newport News, VA.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Earl Gardner, and mother, Lena Marie Howard Gardner.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.
