On March 3 Darla K. (Rawls) Rogers joined her Mom and Dad in the arms of our Heavenly Father and Savior.

Darla was born to Ray and Lena Rawls on September 15, 1948.

Darla attended St. Louis, Oklahoma, and Lamont, Oklahoma school systems, she graduated from Lamont High School in Lamont in 1966. After graduation, she attended Cosmetology school in Enid Oklahoma. After successful completion of the curriculum Darla was employed at Elsie Rea's Beauty shop in Lamont. She was so good at her profession that she was in very high demand, and had to work at least twelve hours per day, six days per week to keep up with the demands of her clientele.

Darla married Dock Rogers on February 8, 1969. After Dock returned from duty in Viet Nam, she accompanied him to bases in Texas, and New Mexico.

In January 1972 Darla and Dock bought, and she managed, a laundry and, dry cleaning business in Crane, Texas. Once again, her business was so successful that her minimum day was twelve hours and many times sixteen to twenty hours per day. Darla had a huge customer base that loved her and the work she did. She loved all of them dearly. She retired June 30, 2007. Her greatest regret in retirement was that she missed her customers so badly.

Darla was a perfectionist, thus the reason that her cosmetology work, and her cleaning business was such a huge success.

Darla loved playing games, and just as in her business life, she was highly competitive. She was so smart and successful at games that none of her friends would allow she and Dock to be partners for any competition. Forty-two was one of their favorite games and they hardly ever lost as partners. Whether it was business, leisure activities, or everyday life Darla was successful due to her, loving and fierce competitive spirit.

Sheloved animals, and adored her dogs, and cats. She considered them her children and treated them as if they were human family.

Darla loved to cook. It was a true joy for her to make all kinds of "goodies" and share them with family, friends, and neighbors. The recipients always enjoyed them greatly. She enjoyed gardening immensely, and adored flowers.

Oneof the greatest joys of her life wasthe time she got to spend with her family. She loved family get-togethers.

Darla was preceded in death by her father Ray Rawls August 5, 1980, and her mother Lena Rawls December 19, 2012.

Both sets of her Grandparents.  All her aunts and uncles on her father's side, and many of the aunts and uncles on her mother's side.

Darla is survived by her husband Dock, and their beloved dog Axl of the home, a sister Rugenia (Gina) Morrison of Seminole Oklahoma, and a brother Ray (Butch) Rawls, Jr. of Holdenville Oklahoma. Also left to cherish her memory are aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Darla was a beautiful, caring and very special person. She will be severely missed by everyone that knew her.

At Darla's request there will be no funeral service or memorial.

At Darla's request any Memoriam made should be to an animal shelter.
