David M. Clark
11/05/1954-6/15/
David Clark was born in
Poughkeepsie, NY on November 5th, 1954. As he would say, "It all started in 1954 " and that is how you knew it was going to be a long story. He was born to Leo J. Clark and Joan E. Croft who are predeceased.
Dave grew up in a rural setting on Sleight Plass Road where he inherited his love of animals from his mother, and his strong will from his father.
In his younger years, Dave graduated from Arlington High School & SUNY New Paltz. He then owned and operated a trucking company hauling materials across the country. Dave then changed gears and attended Albany Law School. Dave passed the Bar Exam on his first attempt and began practicing law. During this time, he purchased his property and turned it into his own oasis (and never ending project). Throughout this time, he also managed to develop a relationship that would last a lifetime with his daughter Caitlin. Together, they shared many adventures including countless hours at the barn, household projects and trips to Zoom Flume.
Dave is survived by his beloved daughter: Caitlin Clark, siblings: Shelly Augustine, Larry Clark, and Kelly Barton, as well as his Brother-in-law: Robert Barton. He is also survived by his niece: Chelsea Flanders, grand-niece: Renley Flanders, nephew: Ryan Efantes and his life-long friend: Dave Triola, as well as many others who knew and loved him. Dave's predeceased loved ones include his parents as well as his Brother-in-law: Charles Augustine.
Dave was known for his stories and ability to talk to anyone, his fight against new technology, his love for our country, and making his opinions known to all those he encountered (which got him into trouble on more than one occasion).
He loved his pets, including his most recent "Tika dog" as he would call her dearly, along with watching the wildlife on his property (except those squirrels!). He was a compassionate man who lived life the way he wanted to, and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Services will be held at Richards Funeral Home of the Mid-Hudson Valley, Inc., 29 Bross Street,
Cairo, N.Y., 12413, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 11:30 A.M. 12:30 P.M., with services at the funeral home at 12:30 P.M.
Dave loved our beautiful country and supported our troops whole-heartedly. The family is asking in lieu of any flowers that all donations be sent to the Casey Frankoski memorial fund @CaseyFrankoski-MemorialFund via venmo, or dropped off or mailed to any Broadview location in his honor. Casey was one of Caitlin's best friends who tragically lost her life serving our country earlier this year and her fund is a cause Dave supported greatly.
