David Zahller Obituary

David was an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He enjoyed his Big 10 football. He enjoyed the great outdoors, especially during his time as a park ranger for our National Parks system. As a ranger in California, he then proposed to his wife at the Golden Gate National Park. As he transitioned into a financial advisor, David passed on his soft spoken, calm, and genuine demeanor; one who never complained about anything. He was also remembered for his long voicemails. Known as an 'elevator friend,' he would talk with anyone, and by the end of it, gain a new friend. Most importantly, David was an extremely proud father. His daughter, Kelly, was his everything. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. located at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 8404 South Cass Avenue, Darien, Illinois 60561. Interment private.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home & Crematorium.

Dave and I go way back to the Nationwide days. I was so fortunate to get to know him. What a great guy. We had several wonderful conversations about whatever was on our minds. With deepest sympathy to the family.

Dave was a special guy. I had the opportunity to work with him over the last couple of years, and he taught me many valuable lessons. He was a pleasure to be around and I´ll miss our conversations. My condolences to his family.

This is a shock. He continued to work up to about a week ago when I last spoke with him on the phone. Dave was so professionally dedicated to us NEA Retirement Specialists. He had become a friend as well and will be sorely missed.
