Denise A. Cheesman, 69, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, November 23, 2023, in Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Assembly of God, 3535 38th Avenue, Rock Island. Burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline.
The former Denise Alane Findley was born April 9, 1954, in Moline, to Vernon and Lila (Lilliman) Findley. She married James L. Cheesman on October 19, 1979, in Moline. She was a secretary for Moline School District #40 and was also a self-employed beautician. She was a former member of Moline Gospel Temple and Bethel Assembly of God, and enjoyed singing, dancing, music, and art. She was known for her compassion for others.
Denise is survived by her husband. James; two sons and daughters-in-law, Benjamin and Abby Cheesman of Riverside, Illinois, and David and Jessica Cheesman of Silvis; her mother, Lila Findley of Moline; a step-daughter, Leah Stewart of Gautier, Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Ella, Alexander, and Jack Cheesman, Neena, Meelia, and Emmi Cheesman, and Benjamin Stewart; and a sister-in-law, Susie Findley of Moline. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Findley; her son, Charles Smith; and her brother, Daniel Findley.
