Cindy J. Young-Rasmussen, 70, of Colona, Illinois, died Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Celebrate of Moline.

Graveside services are Noon, Friday, October 31, at Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Colona American Legion Post #1233 will present military honors. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet in the parking lot at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, between 11:30 and 11:45 a.m.. Cremation will take place prior to services at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Colona Memorial Park.

The former Cindy Joan Young was born January 3, 1955, in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Donald and Willa (Vestal) Young. She married David Rasmussen on September 27, 2000, in East Moline, Illinois. He died November 4, 2013.

She worked as a substance abuse counselor for R.I.C.C.A., Bridgeway, and the Kewanee Correctional Center, helping countless people over the years. She was a member of the Colona American Legion Post #1233, serving on the Honor Guard for many years. She enjoyed mechanical work and attending car shows, and had a special interest in 1970 and 1974 Chevy Camaro’s. She also loved going to local baseball and hockey games, as well as car races of all kinds.

Cindy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Michelle Young, and many good friends including Melissa Christen and Gerri Scheider.
