Derrick Lynn Deruso, 57, passed away on May 30, 2024. He was a beloved father figure, brother, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He went on to work for Denver Public Schools in Denver, Colorado. He traveled to Monroe, Washington where he worked at Fred Meyers for a number of years. Derrick later settled in his hometown of Lake Charles, La. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. But more than anything, Derrick was a devoted son. He loved spending time with his mother, sharing stories, enjoying music together, and caring for her through her last years.

Derrick was very family oriented, shining a positive light to everyone with his never ending smile. Through any tough time or challenge, Derrick always kept his smile. Derrick was loved by all and his community.
His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
