Minister Charles Martin Davis was born June 27, 1956, in Pineville, Louisiana to Cecil Davis and Mammie Lee Kimble Davis. He was a member of Davis Temple in Oakdale, under the leadership of Pastor Cecil Davis. He was also a member of Full Gospel House of Deliverance of Lake Charles and Orange, Texas under the leadership of Pastor Linston Tripplett. He worked at the funeral home in Oakdale and also

as a caregiver. He enjoyed designing flower arrangements and painting baskets. He also enjoyed cooking and baking pies. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and father-in-law, with a giving heart. Mr. Davis departed this life on Monday October 13, 2025, in a local hospital. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of fifty years, Brenda Tripplett Davis; daughter, Gloria Davis (Joseph) Mitchell; sisters, Bernadine Pugh, Ruth (Rev. Dallas) Thomas, Annie Rose (Kines) Thomas, Judy Ann (Charles) Young; brothers, Cecil Davis Jr., Dewitt (Norma Jean) Davis, Tommy (Denise) Davis, Bobby (Kayla) Davis, Carlton Davis and Calvin (Josie) Davis; grandchildren, Brient (Alisha) Richard Jr., Briona Richard, Brittney Richard, Byron Richard, and Braylin Richard; great grandchild, Ava Lister; godchildren, Nathaniel Sapp, Richard "Ricky" Sapp, Cecelia Johnson, Melanie Dennis, Trent Davis, and Sonya; sister-in-law, Gladys (Nathaniel) Sapp; brother-in-law, Linston Tripplett III; his grandchildren's father, Brient Richard Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three sons, Gregory Davis, Charles Martin Davis Jr., and baby Davis; parents, Cecil and Mammie Lee Davis; sister, Geraldine Frank; and brother, Sammie Davis. His visitation will be Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 11AM with his funeral following at 1PM, at New Faith Baptist Church located at 4211 Opelousas Street in Lake Charles, Pastor Earl Miller. Pastor Dallas Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Morning Star Cemetery under the direction of James Funeral Home.
