Edward Klein III, 86, born January 17, 1936 to Edward Jr. and Dorothy (nee Nelson) Klein went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Charlotte (nee Voss), his children: Sherry (Jim) Timmons, Edward IV (Cindy) Klein, Greg (Kay) Klein; his grandchildren: Jennifer King (Dave), Kyle Timmons, Monica (Shane) Muse, Lisa (Justin) Bock; great grandchildren Ryan, Spencer, Benton, Briella, Beaumont, his sister Kay (Jim) Westcott and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His interests besides his family included reading his Bible and daily devotions, fishing, watching old movies and shooting his black powder guns.
He was especially proud of his vegetable garden in which he generously shared the harvest with his family and friends. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy.
He is predeceased in death by his parents, his son Kris, his sister Mildred and his fur baby Missy. A special thank you to the care and compassion shown by the nurses and CNA's of Mercy Home Health Hospice.
Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4881 Kilburn Ave, Rockford, IL 61101 on Monday, May 9, 2022. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Service following at 11:00 a.m. with officiant Pastor Frank Ciprys. Final resting place at Willwood Burial Park. Arrangements by Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3910 N. Rockton Ave, Rockford, IL 61103.
