Eileen McElhone (nee Moran), age 64, of Havertown, PA, passed away on June 23, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Robert E. and Mary B. Moran (nee Plower).
Eileen loved being a mother. She embraced the role God gave her as a loving wife and caring mother with ease. Eileen cherished spending time with her family and friends as much as she could. When Eileen was not taking care of those around her, she could be found down the shore in Sea Isle City, NJ with her loved ones, always cooking for them or reading her favorite books. Eileen could also be spotted rooting for one of her favorite Philadelphia sports teams including the Eagles, Sixers, Phillies or Flyers. Eileen always enjoyed listening to music especially her Irish favorites including her husband’s music and Van Morrison.
Eileen was predeceased by her beloved husband Oliver McElhone, son Robert “Emmett” McElhone, sister Mary Anne (Duke) DiBernardino, and brother Robert “Emmett” Moran.
Eileen is survived by her adoring children Oliver P. (Grace) McElhone, James R. (Lisa) McElhone, Eamon J. McElhone, Martin F. McElhone, John P. McElhone, Dennis P. McElhone, Mary B. McElhone, her grandchildren Isabelle, Owen, and Rosemary and her siblings Joan (Allan) Steven, Sheila (late Dennis) McDermott, Dennis (Karen) Moran, Patrick (late Kathy) Moran, Bridget Christiansen, Kevin (Char) Moran, Rose (Dan) Haley, Anne (Brian) Dolan, Theresa (Rich) Young, Joseph (Ann Marie) Moran, John (Denise) Moran, and Michael (Catalina) Moran. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Friday June 30, 2023, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, and to her Funeral Mass Saturday July 1, 2023, 10:30 AM at Annunciation BVM Church 401 Brookline Boulevard, Havertown, PA 19083. Interment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to Annunciation BVM Church, 401 Brookline Boulevard, Havertown, PA 19083.

Eileen was my best friend, next to our cohort Pat (a bestie to both of us!!). We shared a great time growing up in Havertown We were always together laughing, sharing and planning our next good time! I will continue to plan our next great time together when you sneak me into heaven !! I always did and always will love you Leenie
