Elisabeth LaSalle Wilkinson, a long time former resident of Catharpin and former member of Sudley United Methodist Church, died peacefully in her sleep in New Bern NC, her home since 1995, on March 29, 2009. Prior to moving her business to New Bern from the Northern Virginia area, she practiced as Associate Designer with the internationally renowned interior design firm Parish-Hadley, Inc. of New York, and later opened her own business, Design Associates Ltd., in the greater Washington DC metropolitan area where her clientele included national and international notables. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale NY, and graduated later from the New York School of Interior Design also in New York. She served as a sworn Commissioner on the New Bern NC Historic Preservation Commission from 2001 to 2007, was inducted into the National Association of Professional and Executive Women in 2007, and was nominated and elected for inclusion in the New York Metropolitan Who's Who Registry in 2008. She was also an adjunct instructor in Fine Arts and Interior Design at colleges in Virginia and in local area colleges in North Carolina.

She is immediately survived by her husband, Robert, of over forty years also of New Bern NC, and two sons, Robert, Jr. and Richard of Gainesville VA as well as a brother, David LaSalle of North Scituate RI and a sister, Anne Kachajian, of Somerset MA.

A private memorial burial ceremony will be held in her honor to celebrate her life, and she will be interned in the family plot at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Somerset MA.
