Eugene Harold Bogner, age 91, of Sparland, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Pekin Manor.
Gene was born on February 7, 1932 in Henry, IL to Conrad Andrew and Lena (Frey) Bogner. He married Carolyn Jean Ferguson on September 12, 1970 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; his daughter, Janell (Jim) Entwistle; three grandchildren, Jared (Fiancé Brooke Arnold), Riley (Fiancé Brittany Driskell) and Emily Entwistle ; three great-grandchildren, Max, Emmie and Easton; his brother, Dick (Yvonne) Bogner; his sister-in-law, Irene Bogner ; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Marian Nauman; two brothers, James and Laverne Bogner; brother-in law, Leo Nauman and a sister-in-law, Barbara Bogner.
Gene was a farmer and raised cattle and hogs. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Wyoming and served on the LaPrairie Township Board.
Services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 11am at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe with visitation beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Camp Grove. Memorials in his name may be made to The Ark in Lacon. Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
