Eugene Wilford Sneed

Eugene Wilford Sneed, 86, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Eugene was born July 12, 1936 in Ansel, Kentucky to the late Elger Delton and Viola Evelyn (Leigh) Sneed.
Eugene married the love of his life, Frances Faye Sims, on January 8, 1962; they were married for 61 wonderful years.
Eugene proudly served in the United States Army and later worked for ArvinMeritor for 46 years until his retirement in 2001.
Eugene became a son of God in 1946 and had a strong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family. He had a love for fishing and putting puzzles together and was a huge sports fan, especially for the Cincinnati Reds and Kentucky Wildcats.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Frances Sneed; 3 children, Larry (Lylia) Sneed, Paul (April) Sneed, and Lora Diana Burge; 7 grandchildren, TerraDawn (Sean) Dickus, Chastity (Eddie) Suggett, Amanda (Sylvia) Glassco, Emily Sneed, Eric (Nadia) Sneed, Britney (Ryan) Everhart, and Blake (Harley) Burge; 10 great-grandchildren, Trinity Warner, Kayla Burge, Devin Suggett, Alivia Suggett, Mona Sneed, Harrison Everhart, Sawyer Burge, Eliot Burge, Sarah Glassco, and James Glassco; a great-great-grandchild, Akari Brown; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Elger Sneed; mother, Viola Sneed; stepmother, Mary Sneed; 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 2:00pm at Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 11:00am until the funeral hour. Eugene will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
