Sylvia Faye Cummins, 91, passed away on February 2, 2025. Faye was born to the late Frank M. and Sylvia Mae (Stone) Bohlender on May 31, 1933.
Faye, as everyone knew her, was a retired beautician who owned and operated her salon in Jackson Center. She loved traveling, especially taking trips to the casino with her girls. Faye loved gardening and taking care of her flowers. She also enjoyed birdwatching, always on the hunt for new finds. Faye liked to bake, but she did love a good meal out, too. Faye adored her family, and held a special place in her heart for her dog, Lexie.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Jay) Smith; granddaughter Michelle (Steven) Williams both of Worth Township; great-grandchildren, Addison and Tucker Williams, the joy of her life; A sister, Irma (Gene) O'Connor of Grove City; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is survived by her long-time companion's daughters: Jean (Fred) Heckman; Pat (Larry) Reagle; Joan Clayton; Debby (Kevin) Kelley; and his son-in-law Tom Conway. Faye is also survived by her great-grandchildren.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, James Bartosh, Donald Cummins, and long-time companion Herbert Clayton. She was preceded in death by five sisters: Lena Bohlender, Lou Emma Klett, Mildred Klingensmith, Irene Fotio, and Bertha Nurse. She was also preceded in death by four brothers Emil Sanders, Frank P. "Phil" Bohlender, Thomas Bohlender, and Donald Bohlender. Faye was preceded in death by Herbert's children Kim Clayton, Della Conway, Jack Clayton, Edward Clayton, and Lewis Clayton.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin St. Stoneboro, PA 16153. Visitiation will be held from 11AM-1PM on Thursday February, 6, at the funeral home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
