Fermin Espinoza

Fermin Espinoza Salcido died on Wednesday August 23 at the age of 89 years. A native of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, Fermin moved to El Paso, TX where he graduated from the Lydia Patterson Institute. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country with honor. Fermin established his family with his first wife Hilda Ferro de Espinoza. For many years Fermin and his family were faithful members of the Methodist Church in Ciudad Juarez. Throughout those years Fermin occupied positions of leadership particularly as the Treasurer of the church. After years of the passing of his first wife Hilda, Fermin got married to Esperanza De Los Rios and his family expanded.
Fermin always was a good steward of his resources and as such he worked in the finance industry until he started his own business (ABC Loans), a corporation he presided over making decisions even on the day before his passing. His good stewardship was expressed by a generous heart which he displayed by helping financially many individuals, families and causes in both Mexico and in the United States.
A friendly, almost mischievous attitude characterized his connection with many. He always liked people regardless of their background, class or culture. He could have conversations at many levels from the most irreverent to the most intellectual in both English and Spanish. Fermin will always be remembered as a husband, a father, a friend, and a mentor.
Wife: He is survived by his wife of 38 years Esperanza Espinoza;
Children: Oscar Hernandez (Mary Hernandez, wife), Angelica Buck (Reggie Buck, husband), Hilda Rivera (Eduardo Rivera, husband), Fermin Espinoza III (Deirdre Espinoza, wife), Forest Rich, Alex Rich (Corinn Rich, wife) and Norma Rich.
Grandchildren: Óscar Daniel Hernandez, Aaron Hernandez, Venesa Mendoza, Alejandra Denise Gomez (Joe Gomez, husband), Marcus Daniel Buck, Angelica Lizet Dickinson (Derek Dickinson, husband), Marissa Angelica Espinoza, Fermin Esteban Espinoza, Hannah Rich, Hope Rich, John Rich, Madeline Rich, Natasha Juarez.
Great Grandchildren: Óscar Daniel Hernandez Jr, Michael Hernandez, Diego Mendoza, A.J. Mendoza and Olivia Dickinson. Visitation will Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with service to start at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Interment will be at a later date. Fermín Espinoza Salcido murió el miércoles 23 de agosto a la edad de 89 años. Nativo de Ciudad Juárez, México, Fermín se mudó a El Paso, Texas, donde se graduó del Instituto Lydia Patterson. Se enlistó en el Ejército de los Estados Unidos y sirvió a su país con honor. Fermín estableció su familia con su primera esposa Hilda Ferro de Espinoza. Durante muchos años Fermín y su familia fueron miembros fieles de la Iglesia Metodista El Divino Salvador en Ciudad Juárez. A lo largo de esos años, Fermín ocupó puestos de liderazgo, particularmente como tesorero de la iglesia. Después de años del fallecimiento de su primera esposa Hilda, Fermín se casó con Esperanza De Los Ríos y su familia creció.
Fermín siempre fue un buen administrador de sus recursos y, como tal, trabajó en la industria financiera hasta que comenzó su propio negocio (ABC Loans), una corporación que presidió tomando decisiones incluso aun el día antes de su fallecimiento. Su buena administración se expresó en un corazón generoso que mostró al ayudar financieramente a muchas personas, familias y causas tanto en México como en los Estados Unidos.
Fermín siempre mantuvo una actitud amistosa y casi traviesa, la cual caracterizó su conexión con muchos. Siempre le gustó la gente, independientemente de sus antecedentes, clase o cultura. Podría tener conversaciones a muchos niveles, desde el más irreverente hasta el más intelectual, tanto en inglés como en español. Fermín siempre será recordado como un marido, un padre, un amigo y un mentor.

Nietos(as): Óscar Daniel Hernandez, Aaron Hernandez, Venesa Mendoza, Alejandra Denise Gomez (Joe Gomez, husband), Marcus Daniel Buck, Angelica Lizet Dickinson (Derek Dickinson, husband), Marissa Angelica Espinoza, Fermin Esteban Espinoza, Hannah Rich, Hope Rich, John Rich, Madeline Rich, y Natasha Juarez. Bisnietos (as): Óscar Daniel Hernández Jr, Michael Hernández, Diego Mendoza, A.J. Mendoza y Olivia Dickinson. Velacion el Sabado 26 de Agosto de 1:00 pm. hasta las 2:30 p.m. con el servicio empezando a la 1:00 p.m. en La Iglesia St. Paul's United Methodist. Sepultura será en el futuro.
